Delete your account and data
The Barir Hisab (বাড়ির হিসাব) app is made by Teamz Lab LTD. This page explains how to delete your account and data, what is deleted and what is kept.
Delete it yourself in the app
Landlord, manager or mess
- Log in to the app.
- Tap "More" (আরও) at the bottom, then "Settings" (সেটিংস).
- At the very bottom, tap the red "Delete account" (অ্যাকাউন্ট মুছে ফেলুন) button.
Tenant or mess member
- Log in to the app.
- Tap "More" (আরও) at the bottom.
- At the very bottom, tap the red "Delete account" (অ্যাকাউন্ট মুছে ফেলুন) button.
Caretaker
- Log in to the app. The "Today" (আজকের কাজ) page opens.
- At the very bottom, tap the red "Delete account" (অ্যাকাউন্ট মুছে ফেলুন) button.
Then two steps
- Step 1: you see exactly what will be erased and what stays, with your own numbers. If you want, first tap "First, download all my data" (আগে আমার সব তথ্য ডাউনলোড করুন) — one file downloads. Then "Next step" (পরের ধাপ).
- Step 2: "Are you sure?" (আপনি কি নিশ্চিত?) — after 5 seconds you can tap the red "Yes, delete" (হ্যাঁ, মুছে ফেলুন). Changed your mind? Tap "No, go back" (না, ফিরে যাই). Nothing to type.
- If you logged in more than 15 minutes ago, the app first asks you to log in again, for your safety.
What is deleted
- Your account: name, mobile number, email, password and Google sign-in.
- Your own rent diary, the "I paid" messages you sent, your documents (photos / PDF) and notifications.
- If you are the only owner of a house account: all of its houses, flats, tenant list, bills, receipts, expenses, meters, repairs, mess meals and bazar, vacant-flat ads and their photos.
What is kept, and why
- If you are a tenant: your bills and receipts stay in the landlord’s own ledger, because they are the landlord’s own money records. Your name there is replaced with "deleted user" (মুছে ফেলা ব্যবহারকারী), and your mobile and email are removed.
- If another owner shares the house account, or you are a manager or caretaker: the house account stays for the others. Only you are removed.
- Our security log keeps only the fact that an account was deleted and when — without a name, number or email.
The 7-day window
- The moment you tap "Yes, delete" you are logged out and cannot log in. Public links of your house account (receipts, vacant-flat ads) stop working at once.
- After 7 days everything is erased from the app for good. After that it cannot be brought back.
- Daily safety backups delete themselves after 14 days, so within 21 days at most your data is gone everywhere.
- Deleted by mistake? Tell us on WhatsApp within 7 days and we can bring it back.
If you cannot open the app
- Write to us on WhatsApp or by email: "Please delete my Barir Hisab account", with the mobile number or email of the account.
- Before deleting, we check that the account is yours by contacting you on that mobile number or email. Once checked, we delete it within 7 days and tell you.
